Colette and Altmash – A Glasgow Wedding

Category : Real Weddings

The Scottish weather really is unpredictable and quite often darn irritating – but the show must go on! Today, Wilson McSheffrey share with us another Scottish bride and groom willing to brave the cold October weather! I love the fact that they got a nice dry day……I can but hope.

Below, Kate tells us a little about the couple’s special day;

“Colette and Altmash chose to defy the Scottish seasonsal weather and celebrated their wedding day at the end of October. With both the ceremony and the reception being held at the fantastic Carnbooth House Hotel, located in the idyllic country setting of Carmunnock, just south east of Glasgow.

Colette was a stunning bride in a gorgeous strapless fish tail wedding dress and Altmash was striking in traditional Asian clothing, complete with a marvellous pair of shoes!

At this time of year there is always the fear of rain hanging in the air but fortunately Andrew and Emmett were delighted that the day turned out to be gorgeous and sunny with lovely autumnal light. It just goes to show that if you’re brave enough to celebrate your wedding later on in the year you can get some really pretty photographs with beautiful autumn colours”

Attention to detail, some of people have it and others wish they had. Neil and Charlotte, definately did.

Today Lesley from Memories thru a lens, shares with us some photos she took of the couples big day and tells us all the details!

Charlottes dress was a stunning Benjamin Roberts gown and Neils suit was from Moss Bros.  The bridesmaids dresses where made in hong Kong, the material for them was brought in Deli and one of Charlotte’s air hostess friends brought them back for the wedding – a long  journey indeed!

The couple got married in a beautiful church ceremonyat St Marys in Kintbury followed by a reception the Donnington Grove. By day, Charlotte is a wedding caterer herself and even runs her own wedding catering business. She styled the event herself -going for an english country garden theme, with butterflies, english roses and apples and did a fantastic job!

Jeff & Sarah, St. Catherines, Burbage/Antsy Hall Wiltshire

Category : Real Weddings

Jeff and Sarah came across Gary Bonar when they were searching the internet looking for their perfect photographer – luckily for them (and for Gary) – his work was exactly the style they were looking for!

Below Gary tells us a little about the couple’s big day!

“I left Glasgow about 3 AM on New Years day and due to the time of day and year the long drive from Scotland was fairly easy!

Sarah was getting ready at her parents place in Burbage and Jeff at the venue (Antsy Hall), thankfully both aren’t that far apart!  The day went really great and the only thing that was letting us down was the weather, but we managed to make the most of the dark dreary day and get some terrific shots to capture the couple’s wedding day.

Jeff and Sarah were an absolute joy to work with and they didn’t even complain about being out in the cold for their photos.  A traditional wedding, with lots of guests – as you can see from the photos the whole day was a very happy one indeed, with both the father of the bride and the best man securing a few laughs during their speeches!

Winter Wonderland Wedding – Erika & Ross, Ripley Castle, Yorkshire

Category : Real Weddings

Remember all that snow we had in December? It seems like a lifetime ago now doesn’t it! There is something about a snow filled wedding that seems even more romantic – and these pictures are no different.

Thanks to the lovely Karen Turner for sharing with us her fabulous photographs from Erika and Ross’ big day. Below Karen tells us a little about their wedding;

“Winter can provide some amazing backdrops for weddings and this happened for Erika and Ross’s December wedding in Yorkshire – although it did lead to some worries about the guests getting up to Ripley Castle.  However, at the right time the sun came out and the fresh snow provide the perfect backdrop to Erika and Ross’s day.

Erika’s family and friends flew in from Malta for the wedding and couldn’t have wished for a more festive scene at Ripley Castle.  Some of the guests had never seen snow, and now think that we have a foot of snow every December.  If the temperatures carry on like this they will probably be right!”

Mary & Rob’s Vintage Wedding in a Scottish Castle

Category : Real Weddings Scotland

One word sums up this wedding by Wilson McSheffrey. Wow.

Mary and Rob look fabulous in their wedding photos. The brides goregous dress looks simple and elegant and the groom – a true Scotsman in his kilt! Here’s what Kate had to share about the couple’s big day;

“This is one of our very favourite weddings. Andrew and Emmett were commissioned by Mary her husband to be Rob to photograph their wedding at the beautiful Comlongon Castle, Dumfries in the Scottish Borders. Hailing for the Isle of Man, Mary and Rob chose Comlongon Castle for their wedding venue after attending a friends wedding there and just loved the low key and informal atmosphere but set in the most beautiful surroundings. With only around forty guests Mary and Robs ceremony and reception was intimate and romantic which perfectly complimented the location.

Mary looked stunning with her flame red hair and elegant grecian style wedding dress and Rob was handsome in full Scottish regalia, this combined with the amazing scenery made life very easy for Andrew and Emmett to shoot some fantastic photographs and they almost had to stop themselves from getting carried away!

At first Mary and Rob were a bit dubious when they were asked to wander through the feilds, but absolutely loved the results!

We were especially pleased with the photographs taken at this wedding as they capture the simple and elegant, yet romantic atmosphere of the couple’s day just perfectly.”

How goregous is Mary’s dress – she looks like such a natural in front of the camera. I love all the natural shots captured by Andrew and Emmett. Simply put, stunning.

A big thanks to Wilson McSheffrey for sharing some more of their fantastic images!
