Started back work this week after our christmas holidays. It was tough, early cold and dark mornings along the M8. Not pleasant.

Anyway, today I recieved a beautiful bouquet of flowers for my birthday (which is on Monday incase you were wondering) and they inspired me to look for some bright wedding related items.

So here goes – if Yellow is your colour of choice, then check this out spring inspired collection;

  • Yellow and navy pansy button holes and hair clips by Marissafleur on Etsy. Perfect for a hint of colour

Well last week, we went for a purple theme – but due to the big announcement of the upcomming royal wedding this week, I thought this week’s Sunday Stumbles could focus on some details for a Royal Blue themed wedding!

  • Ideal for a princess – this peacock feathered hair clip by the HeadbandShoppe is lovely.

  • A fan of spray paint myself, I plan on doing a bit of DIY when it comes to our table decorations – but if you can’t be bothered with all of that, then how about these;

  • I can only imagine how difficult a table plan at a royal wedding would be! The very least you can do if is have very regal looking stationery;

  • The high street has some excellent bridesmaid dresses on offer, places like Coast, Monsoon, Oasis and even H&M good places to look! I love this royal blue maxi dress from Coast – and it’s on sale too (not that the royal wedding will be done on a tight budget!)

What a fast week it has been! My little boy hasn’t been too well – just a cold, but not his usual self at all.

On a more cheery note, my friend had a baby girl – cute as a button she is! Obviously everyone jumps to the conclusion that because I think she is cute, I must be broody and ready for another!! Erm, hello – I have a wedding dress to fit into in 11 months. Yep 11, gee whizz.

So, without further hesitation and ramblings – I bring to you, some inspiration for a purple themed wedding;

  • A purple cake topper. Simple, and perfect for a wedding;

  • Take the purple theme to the max! Purple wedding ring anyone?

  • Or some fabulously purple wedding invitations. I am loving the damask patterns used on these invitations – with so many choices, how will you choose yours?

  • Paper poms are becoming increasingly popular – and look fantastic in marquees or in modern buildings. Some brides are even DIYing their poms, courtesy of Martha Stewart instructions! If you don’t have what it takes to DIY – then head on over to Etsy for some of these;

purple party poms

  • Admittedly, not the best colour of shoes to show an example of these fabulous shoe clips – but nonetheless – aren’t they ideal for jazzing up a pair of would be plain heels! Perfect for bridesmaids or brides looking to add in a splash of colour;

And so, there you have it – some purple wedding inspiration.

Any particular colours you would like help with – then please drop me a line!

Enjoy what is left of the weekend, who do you think is leaving X-factor tonight (please please please let it be Wagner!).

Stumble Sunday – All the way from Fort William

Category : Stumble on Sundays

This weekend we are are up in Fort William, and as per usual the weather is bleak – we seem to bring the rain wherever we go! The other half is originally from here, so every now and then we pop back up to see all the family, always nice to get out of the city for a bit!

Hope you are all having a good weekend!

Here are some mighty good finds for you this week;

  • I mentioned a while back that I was looking for a hair accessory that wasn’t too bling. Well, check this haircomb by LottieDa Designs;

  • For all of you brides looking to get some comfortable dancing shoes on under your wedding dress – how about these sparkly silver converse trainers available at Schuh

  • Themed wedding? How about a themed table plan too? Bunny Delicious have some pretty cool ones (my favourite is the London table plan!)
  • Mother of the bride not keen on hats? How about a fascinator – Esemee have some really unusual pieces that are sure to stand out from the crowd.
  • Most high street shops have a bridal range of shoes, some with reasonable price tags, and others maybe on the expensive side for a plain cream shoe. This dusky pink pair at Kurt Geiger are great – and who could say no to that little brooch?!

  • Unusual, and downright delightful keepsake to have from your wedding. This little owl centerpiece byThe Wooden Owl over on Etsy is simply perfect.

  • I am not a huge fan of wedding favours. Personally, I think you take them home, feel the need to keep them for a certain period of time and then they either go in the bin (or possibly to a car boot sale depending!). Something that I reckon would get used are these little bird seed wedding favours – and isn’t the presentation lovely too. Great idea!
