Can a diet really be this pleasing?

Generally I suck¬† at diets. I have a good week, think I can eat whatever I like again and that’s the cycle, week in, week out.

For some reason though, last week I didn’t do that. After my post on Diet Chef and how it works and the fact that I still had a cupboard full of their yummy food and didn’t need to go food shopping, it made sense just to keep going.

Two whole weeks of meals that are pretty darn good (I’m excluding the mixed bean salad here, that wasn’t my cup of tea) and I am still finding it ok, actually, better than ok – enjoyable! This wedding diet could be “the one”.

So, how did I do this week? 2lbs off.

2 weeks, 7lbs down and more importantly not remotely interested in giving up! AWESOME…..roll on week 3.



Finally, a diet that isn’t boring!

You’ve heard the dilema. A wedding dress that doesn’t fit and upteen diets that I find impossible to stick to. I know, I know – it gets boring. You see, I never used to have these issues. My soon to be husband and I used to frequent the gym at least 4 times a week and as a result I lost 4 stone and felt great.

Nowadays though, with a full time job, a 2 year old, a house, my freelance work and the blog – spare time, as you can imagine isn’t something I have a lot of. Excuses, excuses I know. But here comes the good part, the really really exciting, I can’t wait to share part.

Diet Chef. Two words, one simple diet.

So, how does Diet Chef work?

Simply put, they send you breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack. They send EVERYTHING, direct to your door and all you need to do is eat it (as directed of course, not in one go and you also get to add in some fruit and veg!).

The diet is unlike any other, all those excuses about not having spare time, being too tired to cook, not being prepared enough, not knowing which foods are best to eat – those excuses are no longer applicable.

The food so far has been fantastic. Well beyond my expectations of “diet” food. Breakfast generally consists of granola and yoghurt or porridge. Lunch, soup (thai chicken curry, pea and ham are my favourites!) and dinner – well for dinner, there is loads of choice. From curries to pastas, from risottos to fish bakes, it really does pack a punch when it comes to flavour and variety.


I’ve been eating the meals for a week now (that’s right, I kept it a secret from you all for a whole week!) and in that time I have lost 5lbs. 5lbs lighter and I can say without a doubt, that I am very eager to carry on. I want to try all the food, I enjoy the food, I enjoy the diet and I am so so happy to have found one that I really can see working with me and my lifestyle.

So, Mr Diet Chef, I raise a glass (only water for the time being of course) – for creating what I see, as the perfect diet for those with a busy lifestyle.

Wedding Diet – Again.

So, you know the score. Girl buys a wedding dress that doesn’t entirely fit, girl attempts to lose weight, girl fails.

Generally though, brides don’t buy them so small that some good underwear won’t fix the issue…..unlike me. I bought a dress a bit too small and so, for the last time, I am on a diet (not just healthy eating – proper strict diet), to make sure that I give it one last ditch attempt before I admit defeat and buy a new dress (ARGH!).

Week 1 is over, and I am pleased to say that I lost 10lbs. 10 massive lbs.

Unfortunately it was easter weekend and so I may have put on a little due to the ridiculous amount of chocolate we got given.

Tomorrow is a new day and the diet starts again.  Next week, the jeans will be even less tight.

My Wedding Dress Diet – Week 3

Well folks, it really has been a tough week! Dieting and social gatherings simply don’t mix.

Sure whatever diet you are on can bend a little and give you a bit of flexibility – but if you have 3 or 4 nights out in a week, then there goes the diet.

This week, has been one of those weeks. Inbetween kids birthday parties, catching up with old friends, having a little mother and daughter pampering day and attending a christening I have been really good. However, during those those, I let myself go a little.

Anyway – not seeing my Cambridge leader until Wednesday, so until then, keep your fingers and toes crossed for me please.

My Wedding Dress Diet – Week 2

Diets really are difficult aren’t they! Difficult and not particularly fun, but then, I suppose anything worthwhile is never that easy. I always go into these things full steam ahead. First week is great, I feel elated and then wham – it becomes hard work.

This time around though, there really isn’t a choice (well, technically that isn’t true, but the choice is to buy a new wedding dress, so in my mind – NOT AN OPTION!)

So, how did I do?

Well despite my slip up on Monday – for my birthday – for the most part I stuck to the diet. Resulting in another 3lbs off.

So, all in all, 11lbs in 2 weeks.

Only another 39lbs to go…..
