A while back I showed you the invitation my friend and I made for her wedding. We got all the card and embellishments, assembled them and that was that. Simple and stunning (and rather cheap too!).
So why, pray tell, is it that our invitations are taking so darn long to pull together. I’ll tell you exactly why, my other half. Who knew he was going to be so involved in the details (yay? more like ARGH!).
- Firstly, he wanted a spiderman/comic like invitation. I said no. Not because I don’t like the idea, but it really wouldn’t go with anything else we have planned and it also meant I had no part in it.
- Secondly, he wanted to draw a picture of us. And he did. Problem was, I didn’t like the picture, in my eyes, it simply didn’t look like me.
- And then, well then he said he wanted to print it at his work, whilst I wanted letterpress. The type of printing his company don’t do.
I’m sure by now you get the picture. We have MAJOR artistic differences.
After a lot of discussions (well, arguments) we have finally decided on our invitations. Purple pocketfolds, a bit of his design work and some cutting and mounting required by me. The art of compromise.
