You may remember a while back I spotted a dress that I absolutley adored. Well, at the SECC wedding fayre last weekend I came across the very dress. It really is gorgeous – but I have come to the conclusion that I simply wouldn’t suit the shape. Boo.
One bride who totally rocks the dress though is Cheryl.
Cheryl tell us a bit about her day;
When we got engaged we knew we wanted a venue with the wow factor! We only visited 3 venues before paying the deposit at Ingliston Equestrian Centre. We first saw the venue in an advert in SWD with a picture of the fabulous staircase. I made the appointment to go visit and I knew as soon as we arrived that I wanted to get married there. We had a tour round and we both loved it! We could have the ceremony and reception in the one venue, we had the option of the outdoor terrace and the whole place was just stunning – it ticked so many boxes for us!
The whole day is a big happy blur – I loved it from start to finish! If I had to pick I’d choose our first dance. We had Run by Snow Patrol (played by our band), it was amazing to be there with my new husband, all our friends and family. We just felt so together, so special and so loved!
I enjoyed the whole planning process – I could happily sit for hours researching on the internet. The best bit was seeing it all come together on the day, the worst bit was that we missed the entertainment during our drinks reception (which we spent a lot of time and thought organising) because we were away getting our photos taken!
The dress that I wore was actually my second dress!
I didn’t enjoy dress shopping at all – I was so looking forward to it, then it just turned out to be a huge anti-climax. I ended up settling on a dress that I thought was the one for me. However, I always had wee niggling doubts which came to a head about 10 weeks before the big day. I eventually confided in my mum – with lots of tears – and I finally admitted to myself that I couldn’t wear it. We made a few appointments to try on some other dresses, but still I couldn’t find ‘the one’.
Eventually I went to a wee shop in Barrhead and picked out a few dresses, then the girl in the shop encouraged me to try on an unusual tea length dress – I thought ‘why not?’ – its something different. So I tried it on and that was me! I didn’t want to take it off! I knew it was the one, i felt amazing wearing it!
Since coming home from honeymoon and settling back in to real life I’m just enjoying being so close to my new hubby – its such an amazing feeling. I also love hearing him call me his wife!
Doesn’t Cheryl look stunning! Big thanks to www.jillianclarkphotography.com for sharing her photos and to Cheryl for the downlow on her wedding day.
