Stumble on Sundays – Yellow Wedding Theme Inspiration

1

Category : Stumble on Sundays

Started back work this week after our christmas holidays. It was tough, early cold and dark mornings along the M8. Not pleasant.

Anyway, today I recieved a beautiful bouquet of flowers for my birthday (which is on Monday incase you were wondering) and they inspired me to look for some bright wedding related items.

So here goes – if Yellow is your colour of choice, then check this out spring inspired collection;

  • Yellow and navy pansy button holes and hair clips by Marissafleur on Etsy. Perfect for a hint of colour

  • Your bridesmaids will love this yellow dress from Coast. Be sure to check it out fast though, at a bargain price of £55 it is sure to sell out fast! Or if you would like something vintage, Love Miss Daisy is sure to have something especially for you!

Enjoy what’s left of your weekend.

Sunday Stumbles – Post SWD Pamper Party

Category : Stumble on Sundays

Last night was the long awaited Scottish Wedding Directory Pamper party in Glasgow. The party was a sellout – 100 girls (brides to be, with their bridesmaids, friends and family, wedding professionals) all out to share ideas, have some pampering (and a little wine of course) and just a good old natter and a bit of a dance.

Glad to say, I have no sore head this morning though!

And so, onto this weeks Sunday Stumbles – some more fabulous wedding ideas and inspiration for you today hopefully!

  • It seems DIY is all the rage at the moment, and one fab bride to be, donning her glue gun and spray paint mask is the lovely Laura over at PurpleandPearls. Check out her ideas for chalk placecards here.
  • When it comes to the ring bearer (if you are having one of course!), it’s hard to do something unusual – that was until these customized decoupage blocks – I love this;

  • It really is amazing what you can do with paper these days, Trigger Happy Trends has some perfect hair accessories – and the beauty is, you can get them in your colour scheme!

  • My bridesmaid is notoriously difficult to buy for. Most presents from family and friends end up either in a cupboard unused or at a car boot sale (yep, she has no shame!). Surely neither of these adorable necklaces by Morgan Prather and Tyra Handmade Jewellery over on Etsy wouldn’t though;

  • Following the country themed weddings, over at The Wedding of my Dreams, Gemma has some great little pieces to help you decorate, my favourite are the cream metal jugs – which when filled with your chosen flowers will look perfect!
  • October already – and with Halloween just around the corner, some special inspiration for all those looking to have a Halloween theme

And now, the couch and X-factor are calling!

Hope you find something useful – enjoy your Sunday x

Category : Stumble on Sundays

Of late I have had a mega busy social calendar, with hen nights and weddings, to visitors and family gatherings (one could call me a social butterfly, however social elephant would be better suited). As a result my Sunday Stumbles have been slightly lacking in content. This one however should make up for the past few weeks!

  • Still a big kid at heart? Then how about a board game theme for your wedding – check out Love and Lavender for some excellent ideas and inspiration on achieving this!
  • Candy buffets are all the rage at the moment, and why not? I love this photo from Amy Atlas – the decoration that has gone into this candy table is veyr impressive

  • For top tips on creating a candy buffet for yourself, read this article by Indie Bride
  • I love Jodie Chapman’s photography style and her latest Wedding in Provence was simply stunning – well worth a gander!
  • Love letterpress invitations? (who doesn’t). Then have a look at Hammerpress, they have some excellent designs – my favourite is this;

  • Every Thursday over at 10000dollarwedding it is template Thursday, I like this one – which is your favourite?

  • Unsure what to do about centrepieces or not wanting flowers, how about crystal trees;

  • I’ve mentioned Cards By Sophie before, perhaps more than once. But did you know that Sophie also does mini table plans for those getting married abroad? Fabulous idea – and perfect for posting or fitting in your hand luggage!

Before I jet (well drive!) off on my long awaited holiday tomorrow, I thought it best to share with you some more fabulous stumbles this week. Was stuck in a boardroom for training for the majority of this week, so Etsy became my savior (think I may have mentioned once or twice my love for Etsy!). Here they are – enjoy;

  • Going down the gift route – are you stuck for ideas for the groom? These cant go wrong!
  • wedding cufflinks

  • Decorations a plenty this week (did you see my vinatge post?) – bunting is everywhere at the moment, but for something a bit different, how about these fun felt garlands;

  • Wooden letters seem to be cropping up on many a top table, these ones could be created in line with your wedding colours or themes
  • wooden love letters
    wooden heart boxes

  • Not entirely wedding related, but chalkboards are a fun prop – and this one double up as a magnetic board too. Yay for ShabbyVintageMom and her upcycled items!

Enjoy what is left of your weekend – speak to you all next week when I return (well, if I can keep away from Twitter that is!)

I have a real thing right now for anything in a vintage style (or real vintage ofcourse!). With such pretty and romantic looking accessories, table decorations and dresses available, I think this style is ideal for a wedding.

A couple of weeks back (before the computer went on the brink) Gemma – from The Wedding of my dreams and I, got talking about all the fabulous vintage inspired table decorations she currently has on offer – and luckily for us, she is willing to share the best with us!

So, over to Gemma;

At The Wedding of my Dreams we currently love everything vintage. We are an online shop selling wedding table decorations, favours, venue decorations, brooches and some unique extras, with our vintage ranges
being some of our best sellers.

1. Vintage Birdcage Table Plan – This is one of my personal favourites, and has been loved by our brides. The slightly domed Antique finished metal frame complete with love bird comes with limed wooden pegs to hold your Table Cards in place.

3. Vintage Mocha Freeze Dried Rose Petals – Our mocha coloured rose freeze dried petals are grown with care and attention in the Shropshire countryside. They are a taken from high quality roses where you can see the curves and intricate detail of each petal. These amazingly vintage looking rose petals would look perfect scattered on the tables to fit with your vintage wedding theme.

favours for guests to take home for their memos/photos.

6. Silver and Pearl Brooch – Each Stunning Silver and Pearl Brooch is carefully created to add that perfect finishing touch to your wedding outfit, use it on the ribbon of your bouquet, as a gift for your bridesmaids. Or add that Wow factor to your table setting and add as a napkin decoration for special guests.

7. Hanging Heart Lovebirds – This vintage inspired decoration of white heart lovebirds will look gorgeous hung around your wedding venue inside your reception room, marquee or hanging from trees in the garden. A perfect finishing touch to your vintage wedding.

8. Soft Pink Flower Heads – These soft pink vintage flower heads look great in a vase or scattered around your guests tables or sweetie, use them in vintage tea cups to decorate favour boxes and other creative ideas.

9. White Flower Candle in Vintage Tin – These candles are handmade and smell beautiful as soon as the tins are opened, I love the design on the lid of the tin, making them an original addition to any wedding, whether they are positioned on the guest tables to tie in with your vintage look or are saved for special guests to take home in memory of your special day.

10. Pretty in Purple Candle Holder – Each candle holder is covered with pink/purple daisy and viola petals giving it a romantic summer look. As the pinks and purples are soft tones they would look beautiful in a vintage inspired wedding.
